An update on our struggle to get speeding under control.
Dear Heath and Reach Residents,
The Parish Council continues to take excess speed and high traffic volume numbers through the village extremely seriously.
To support these aims, the Parish Council replaced three Speed information Displays (SIDs) at the main road entrances into the village. These new devices deter, but also record in high detail, vehicle activity. The device on the Linslade Road, does not have recording ability.
The figures produced since the devices were installed in July 24, are startling. They have been provided to Ward Councillor Mark Versallion, Bedfordshire Police, and Central Bedfordshire Highways.
The Parish Council have been informed that traffic calming will not be forthcoming, due to budget restraints, but CBC have finally agreed to arrange a meeting with members of the Parish Council. The PC remain committed to pushing for further speed and volume reductions.
The figures are for the various speed ranges, are produced below. “
