Heath and Reach Cemetery
Topple Test carried out on 28th July 2020
Heath and Reach Parish Council is responsible for the ongoing inspection of memorials, making dangerous memorials safe within our cemetery which are identified as category 1 – ‘requires immediate action’.
The Parish Council takes the safety of the public and staff seriously. Whilst we understand that it may be upsetting to grave owners and bereaved families, it is also essential that we ensure that our cemetery can be a safe environment for all.
We can confirm that the following headstones failed the topple test and that the stones have been laid down.
These are:
Jessie and Ronald Birkhead 1982 – Plot number C166
Gertrude and Frederick Brantom – 1990 Plot number C161
Thomas Webb
What to do next:
The deed-holders or custodians are responsible for any charges to have the memorial fixed or re-laid. Therefore, they must now make contact with the Parish Clerk to arrange for the repairs to be carried out by an authorised monumental mason within the course of the next 30 days from the date of this notice.
